Ten Books to Read During 2014

As I said in my last post, 2013 was an amazing reading year for me and I read so many fantastic books. However, my TBR list is still full of books that I really want to read. So to end the year I am going to be doing my ten books to read during 2014!

  • Legend by Marie Lu - This has been a favourite in the booktube community and I am so pumped to read it! I'm thinking of getting the hardcover box set because the covers are really neat.
  • Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas- Another very popular YA book this year. I've heard that there is a kick-ass protagonist in this book so I am really excited to start the series. Fortunately, I was given a copy of this for Christmas. *dances*
  • Pushing The Limits by Katie McGarry- I love me a bad boy romance. I use to read quite a lot of them on Wattpad and I just love the tension and the thrill.
  • Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi- MUST READ. MUST. I don't own this book yet but I will read it during 2014. I just have to!
  • Cinder by Marissa Meyer- I use to love princesses when I was younger and I've heard that this is a really unique series of fairytale retellings.
  • Allegiant by Veronica Roth- I love love love the Divergent series! I tried to read this book but I couldn't get very far because it's been a while since I've read Insurgent but I'm planning to reread Divergent and Insurgent during the readathon so that I can finally read Allegiant!
  • Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell- Rainbow Rowell has been the author recommended the most to me this year. I've heard so any amazing things about her writing and I have not yet picked up a book written by her. I think it's tie to change that! Also, the title describes me perfectly.
  • The Coldest Girl in Coldtown by Holly Black- Vampires. Just say that word and I'll pick it up. I've heard that this is a really unique approach to vampires so I'm definitely going to pick it up!
  • The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken- I am so behind! I was meaning to pick this book up this month but I guess I didn't. *hides* I have read and watched so many reviews for this book and I have a feeling that it's going to be in my Top Books of 2014 list.
  • The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin- Another series I have been seeing a lot around booktube and other blogs. Romance, thrill, fantasy, paranormal. I think this book has it all!

So that is all from me for this year! It has truly been an amazing year and I can't wait to see what 2014 has to offer. I'm not going to do the whole 'new year, new me' lark, but I am setting myself some goals for 2014, on of which is to post more regularly on this blog!
I hope you all had a fab 2013 and have a great start to 2014!

Bout of Books TBR Pile Mini Challenge!

Bout of Books

Click the link: http://musingsofabookshopgirl.blogspot.co.uk/2013/08/bout-of-books-tbr-pile-mini-challenge.html

{ The Questions }

1.  Which 5 books are at the top of your TBR pile at this moment?

2.  If I gave you a wad of cash and sent you into a bookshop right now, which 5 books would you buy to add to the stack?

{ My Answers }

1.

I read Clockwork Angel earlier this year and absolutely LOVED it. I am so excited to read this book but it's still coming in the post. As soon as it gets here, I am going to be reading it!

Clockwork Prince
by Cassandra Clare

I bought this book a week ago and it sounds like such an amazing book! I've heard a lot of good things about Michael Grant's writing and I'm excited to start reading his work.

Eve & Adam
by Michael Grant and Katherine Applegate

This book has been high on my TBR list for ages and I just never seem to get around to it. I've been recommended this book numerous of times and I think it's about time I start it!

The Knife of Never Letting Go
by Patrick Ness

I bought this book because a friend recommended it to me. I never knew how popular it was on the booktube community until I included it in a haul video. I'm very excited to read it because everyone seems to like it and I want to know what it's like!

Slated
by Teri Terry

I saw this book on Pippit Bop's YouTube channel and when I saw it on the discount section of an online bookstore, I had to get it!
It sounds like an awesome book and I really can't wait to read it!

Before I Go To Sleep
by S.J. Watson

2.

These are the 5 books that I would definitely add to the stack! They all have amazing covers and would contribute well to my bookshelf and they would definitely be at the top of my TBR list!:D

Throwback Thursday

Cathy Cassidy was one of my favourite authors when I was younger. Ginger Snaps was an amazing book and it has been years since I last read it!

'You can make a wish come true, if you're determined . . .'
Gone are the days when Ginger was an outsider, always on the fringes of friendship. She's swapped puppy fat and pigtails for make-up and hair straighteners and never looked back - until now. Ginger and Shannon are best mates, but when they befriend lonely Emily, everything changes. Even the saxophone-playing boy in the trilby hat can't help - he's part of the problem. Are Ginger and Shannon drifting apart or can they stay best friends forever?

So very happy to get this from a friend and I shall be taking a trip down Memory Lane.

Document Your Life | JUNE

This is my first time I have attempted to make a Document Your Life and just realised that the title on the video say 'Document My Life' 😄
This month's Document Your Life consists of vlogs, ice cream, birthdays, days out, summer, and craziness:D

Document Your Life was created by Lauren Hannah: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCa40JeMC0idOiGvGuviPulg
Project Document Your Life blog page: http://laurenhannahblog.tumblr.com/documentyourlife

~Document Your Life is an online video project that will hopefully make you notice the little beautiful things in the world, and inspire you to live your life to the fullest. The idea is to make a video each month, for which you film short clips of the things you've seen and done in that month. ~

Friday Reads 06/21/13

This weekend I am planning to finish the City of Bones by Cassandra Clare. I have finally started on the Mortal Instruments and I am LOVING it so far. I'm getting worried that five books won't be enough. I'll do a full review after I have finished.

Then, I want to HOPPITY HOP HOP onto the City of Ashes right away.

If I get a chance, I might start a chapter or two on Looking for Alaska by John Green and The House at the End of the Street
